Our dedicated doctors and trained staff take great pride in delivering high-quality care that is compassionate, safe, and resident-centered. Our services are designed to meet our residents’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

As a resident moves into our property, we work closely with their loved ones to perform a customized assessment so an individual care plan can be created. We get to know each of our residents as the unique individuals that they are. Our care plans are updated as needed. Led by the Medical Director, Dr. Mahalaxmi and her husband Dr. Ramani, our community is staffed by highly trained caregivers who are hired not only for their professional skills, but also for their compassionate and warm personalities.

Our Facility

Our property features clean and sanitized facilities. Some of our living areas also look out onto one of our three beautiful courtyards, river, and temple outside..

One of the most popular things about our community is the food. Our highly experienced chefs create diverse menus that include dishes from cuisines such as south Indian, north Indian, Chinese, etc. They also prepare special meals based on physician recommended diet for diabetic or obese patients and residents. We serve coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner to our residents daily.

We will maintain highest professional ethics, while caring individuals with any type of challenges, be it medical, physical or mental.
We understand that our residents are in emotional trauma due to circumstances beyond their control and our residents are forced to relocate from their homes to our institution in their twilight years. Our entire team is aware of this, and will try to provide the comforts of a home away from home with tender loving care to our residents.
We will try to mitigate our residents’ loneliness, and boredom by encouraging them to participate in various group fun, religious and holistic activities, that will be arranged on a regular basis.

Vision Statement

We plan to develop Balaji Healthcare, as a unique institution where people with challenges, can find the comfort of a home away from home. This institution should become THE destination for geriatric care and chronic care.
We foresee the need for a care center for autistic individuals as these kids age and grow up, such individuals increase the stress levels of their care givers, when they face the question who after me? Towards this end we are developing a subsidiary wherein autistic individuals can be taken care of and if possible, we can help them develop skills to lead an independent life.
We foresee in the near future, a growing demand for trained paramedics who can take proper care of those who need temporary care. Towards this end skill development training for local students will be imparted in a scientific way so that they can have better job opportunities when they graduate from the proposed center.

Introduction

Balaji Healthcare established in 2011, is a 100-bed geriatric and chronic care center located on the banks of Batsa river at Vasind, Maharashtra. It caters to all those who need homely love, affection and medical care (24×7) at various stages in life by providing residential stay under utmost hygienic conditions with strict vegetarian food.

We are experts in providing chronic care at Balaji Healthcare where we cater to 2 types of residents

People who are healthy and for security reasons want to live in an atmosphere where assisted living and immediate medical attention is available, if required.
People who have chronic medical, physical, or mental ailments who require round the clock care and rehabilitation.

Today, we are taking care of 75 residents who need various degree of assistance to carry out their regular day to day activities. In order to assist them we have 80 staff members hired and trained by us in geriatric care from the local Adivasi populace. Thus, we are not only bringing peace of mind to our residents’ families but also to 80 local families by providing them a stable source of income.

Founders

Dr. Mahalaxmi Iyer, did her early education in Thane, Mumbai, India and dreamed of serving humanity from early childhood. It was this dream that became a passion, when she started her medical education. By the time she graduated from Grant medical college, her Alma mater, she had already drawn her future blue print. To enhance her skills and experience, she did her post-graduation course as an intensivist and worked in various challenging posts at prestigious institutions like J. J. Hospital, P. D. Hinduja hospital, Jaslok hospital etc. Based on the knowledge and confidence gained from her previous work experience, she took over the day to day administration of a 50 bedded hospital at Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai in the year 2002. She and her dedicated team of staff were the first to set up an I.C.U. unit at Koparkhairane, which was a teeming upcoming suburb of Navi Mumbai at the time. From there she never looked back, progressing gradually, but surely, crossing one milestone at a time. Her perseverance and dedication is single most major factor that propels Balaji healthcare to new levels every day.

Dr. Ramani Brahma, her spouse also grew up in a Mumbai suburb. After graduating from Mumbai University, he went to Canada to do his Ph.D from the university of Alberta at Edmonton. After post-doctoral stints at Boston and Santa Barbara, his desire to give something back to Indian society brought him back to India. After an initial stint as a consultant in the chemical industry, he joined Dr Iyer, in developing and nourishing Balaji Healthcare to its present eminent status as a tertiary care center for patients who need chronic care.

These independently manned units, together with our well-trained staff, under the constant watch of Dr. Mahalaxmi Iyer are well equipped to tackle any and all medical emergencies.

In addition to above medical related facilities, we have other facilities which are used to keep our residents entertained. These include

A central auditorium which can seat 75–80 people, where daily group physio therapy, and other similar activities are conducted.

We have our own temple, from where Lord Balaji continuously showers his blessings on all his devotees.
We have pathway where our residents can take a leisurely walk as a part of their exercises.
